We’re recruiting for a part time (18.5 hours per week) Social Media Manager to help lead the social media activity for Dogs Trust – driving positive engagement on our channels, living and breathing the Dogs Trust brand, and encouraging supporter action.
Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres, Dog Schools and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 9,000 dogs, and we promise to never put a healthy dog down.
The Digital Experience department creates a seamless and integrated digital experience for our customers, ultimately to help ensure a happy life for all dogs. The team includes experts in digital product, digital marketing, content and social media to ensure we provide a first-rate end-to-end experience for dog lovers, dog owners and supporters.
The team sits within the Communications and Digital directorate, which plays a central role at Dogs Trust. We help people know, love and understand the charity and take action to support the charity’s work. We use our understanding of Dogs Trust and audience need to produce impactful and creative on-brand communications, liaising with the media and celebrities, and engaging directly with our supporters. We also play a crucial role in evolving the digital supporter experience and use our internal communications expertise to communicate key messages to employees across Dogs Trust.
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing and analysing the Dogs Trust feeds, with a focus on content planning, innovation and reporting to maximise supporter engagement and to proactively promote learnings and insights to all teams across Dogs Trust. You’ll be responsible for working with teams across the organisation to ensure messaging we share is engaging, timely and tailored for our audiences, and advise teams on the best ways to present their activity. You’ll also assist other teams around the organisation with managing their social channels, including Dog School and our regional accounts.
To be successful in this role you will have advanced knowledge of social media channels and their importance in the marcomms mix, experience responding to current affairs and dealing with crisis. You will be creative and innovative to ensure we are finding new ways to promote our messages to new and existing audiences both proactively and reactively, as well as being a true team player who considers others as well as their own work.
