As an Engineering Manager, you will be the product engineering leader of a mission-driven team, managing engineering, product, and people. We are currently expanding several engineering teams in Conversational Platform Verticals, including; Data Protection & Privacy, Configuration Platform, Monitoring Platform, Payments, Data Exchange to name a few.

What You Be Doing In This Role:
You will lead in specific problem spaces and use expert knowledge to build features, maintain the platform’s stability at LivePerson’s scale and continuously increase technical excellence scores. Lead an engineering team of individual contributors (and engineers), and potentially 1-2 engineering managers. Work with engineers, group product managers, and stakeholders to ensure valuable contributions, and groom the feature that would define the product’s future. Use the latest technologies to solve real problems for our customers at a massive scale. Plan and execute short-term quarterly plans, and contribute to achieving key results in long-term objectives. Hire and retain excellent engineers, and help in individual growth plans. Be part of a team that will take full operational responsibility for the services that you own, and potentially take part in an on-call rotation.
Where your expertise is needed:
Tech Background: Be responsible for shaping the tech vision of the products along with the senior team members. You must have an impressive background in developing mission-critical applications with 99.99% uptime and consider Operational Excellence as an integral part of your responsibility. People Management: Possess exceptional skills in hiring, developing, and retaining outstanding engineers. You enjoy coaching team members in their career path and nurture future leaders as part of the routine. You attract the right talent and build a culture of autonomy, feedback, and continuous learning, and leverage data-driven approaches to take unbiased decisions. Team Leadership: Develop an agile engineering culture where team members continuously improve the velocity of the deliverables. You must be decisive, move quickly and with purpose. You value constant, transparent feedback and raise the bar of standard innovation and motivation.
What you need for success:
8+ years of software development experience Minimum 2 years of people management experience Exceptional people management skills Experience with large-scale distributed systems. Extensive experience in hiring, building, and managing engineering teams. Knowledge of platform services like Service Discovery, CDN, LDAP, etc. Knowledge of SLO/SLI/SLAs and managing 99.99% uptime.
