UKCISA provides membership services – including advice, training and policy guidance – to nearly 500 members and direct support services to thousands of international students each year. Our diverse membership includes every public university in the UK, many private universities and further education colleges, independent schools and students’ unions.
Senior Digital Communications Officer (full-time, permanent)
This is an exciting time to join UKCISA and this brand new role provides a great opportunity for the post holder to shape UKCISA’s digital presence and increase online engagement with members, students and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Head of Engagement and Partnerships, the Senior Digital Communications Officer leads on the delivery of UKCISA’s digital communications to members, international students and other stakeholders, across the UKCISA and the #WeAreInternational campaign brands, including setting and evaluating social media strategies, managing website content, evaluating and identifying products and platforms to support UKCISA’s communications and community engagement.
The role works closely with colleagues in Membership, Events, Student Engagement, and Advice and Training – to ensure consistent branding and communications across UKCISA outputs and services, and to support marketing of UKCISA’s services, and events and training.
The role’s main functions are:
· Website and Social Media: to lead on day-to-day maintenance and development of UKCISA and WeAreInternational web pages, and develop and implement social media strategies for UKCISA and WeAreInternational
· Content development: to create, optimise, commission/source video content and visual design for UKCISA and #WeAreInternational campaign activities
· Promotion, marketing and dissemination: to disseminate digital content, lead the promotion and marketing of member and student events and projects, and lead on the development of UKCISA’s Annual Review and #WeAreInternational Student Ambassador Programme’s Annual Review
· External affairs: To attend international student communications and campaign related meetings with government departments and sector organisations, and support for UKCISA’s external affairs and media/press liaison, as required
The successful candidate will have strong understanding of and proficiency in a wide range of social media platforms, and significant experience in website content management. Proficient in creating and disseminating engaging and innovative content will be crucial to the role, as the post holder will design visual content and infographics under UKCISA and #WeAreInternational brand guidelines.
