We are seeking a hands-on and customer-obsessed marketing professional responsible for developing our Point of Sale (POS) and display activation strategies for Japan offline retail marketing efforts. Through deep insight into JP consumers, retailers and store formats, you will develop and deliver POS strategies that measurably improve the customer experience at the point of purchase.
To succeed, you’ll need to be willing to roll up your sleeves, show hustle, and work collaboratively across multiple teams. As the owner of JP retail experience with and through channel partners, you’ll manage multiple milestones and shifting requirements in a fluid, fast-moving environment, work closely with global and local marketing teams to develop break-through in-store and digital experiences, and create rigorous analytical processes to measure their efficiency while optimizing the overall budget.

A day in the life
This role is based in Tokyo, Japan. The successful candidate will be well versed in the JP Offline retailer environment, providing insights and expertise on in-store capabilities and requirements; equally comfortable thinking strategically and ensuring tactical level details are executed flawlessly. Through deep insight into JP consumers, retailers and store formats, you will develop and deliver POS strategies that measurably improve the customer experience at the point of purchase. You understand the unique requirements for in-store merchandising execution across key strategic partners and retail accounts (set dates, execution capability, security requirements, branding restrictions/guidelines). You will need to thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous, and fast-paced business environment, operating across multiple teams and levels in the organization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 8+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
– Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
– Excellent understanding of consumer product marketing strategies especially in the offline retail and high-technology space
– Track record of success in multi-party marketing partnerships and experience working with JP retailers.
– Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
– Ability to create new and innovative consumer experiences.
– High attention to detail including precise and effective communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
– Proven success in delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
– Considerable experience in consumer marketing such as channel marketing, retail marketing, product marketing, or merchandising.
– Demonstrated success in data intensive quantitative analysis and recommendations; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up program recommendations and results.
– Japanese fluency, business level English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience using any of SQL or other analytical tools for conducting data analysis
– Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, and targeting
