About the Role

We are currently looking for a confident and motivated Sales Promoter to help introduce and grow a new online marketplace platform supporting the buying, sale and donation of products.

This is a proactive sales and marketing role involving online research, telephone contact and email marketing to identify suitable organisations, establish the right point of contact and introduce the benefits of joining the platform. The role will also involve targeting potential buyers for products already available on the platform.

The objective is to turn initial contact into active platform use – whether through buying, selling or donating products – and to support prospective organisations through to onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Research organisations that could benefit from using the platform to buy, sell or donate products.
• Identify appropriate decision-makers and points of contact within target organisations.
• Make proactive telephone and email contact to introduce the platform and generate interest.
• Target suitable organisations and potential buyers for products already available on the platform.
• Explain the platform clearly and confidently to prospective users.
• Follow up enquiries and prospective organisations through to onboarding.
• Hand over to colleagues to assist with the onboarding process where required.
• Maintain accurate records of contacts, conversations, follow-ups and outcomes.
• Build and maintain a structured pipeline of prospective organisations.
• Follow up consistently and professionally.
• Work towards agreed activity, onboarding and platform growth targets.
• Provide feedback on common questions, objections and opportunities identified through prospective users.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in sales, telesales, business development, marketing or a similar customer-facing role.
• Confident and professional telephone manner.
• Experience communicating with prospective customers or organisations by email.
• Good online research skills and the ability to identify relevant organisations and contacts.
• Comfortable approaching new organisations and starting conversations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident using technology, online platforms and standard business software.
• Organised and able to manage multiple contacts and follow-up activities.
• Self-motivated, persistent and comfortable working towards targets.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable Skills

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

• B2B sales or business development.
• Telephone-based lead generation or appointment setting.
• Email marketing or sales campaigns.
• Online marketplaces, e-commerce or digital platforms.
• CRM or sales pipeline systems.
• Sustainability, re-use, charitable donation or circular economy services.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who enjoys speaking to people and is comfortable creating opportunities from a cold start.

You will be confident researching the right person to approach, picking up the telephone and following up professionally by phone and email.

Most importantly, you will be motivated by achieving results and turning initial conversations into organisations actively buying, selling, donating or joining the platform.

The role would suit someone with previous sales experience who would enjoy taking responsibility for helping grow a new platform from its early stages.
