Performance Director – Digital Marketing Agency

Lichfield / Hybrid £55,000-£65,000 + Benefits

We’re looking for an experienced Performance Director to join an established independent digital marketing agency and take a leading role in driving client results, developing talented teams and shaping the agency’s future.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded digital performance leader who combines strategic thinking with a strong understanding of how to deliver measurable results across multiple clients and digital disciplines.

You’ll take overall responsibility for performance delivery, ensuring the agency consistently delivers against client objectives while identifying opportunities to improve effectiveness, efficiency and commercial outcomes.

The agency brings together expertise across Demand, Discovery and Experience, combining data, technology, strategic consultancy and AI to help ambitious brands achieve sustainable growth.

As Performance Director, you’ll work closely with senior leadership, Strategy and Client Services to develop a collaborative, high-performing culture and continually improve how the agency delivers value to its clients.

Responsibilities of this Performance Director include:

• Taking overall ownership of client performance, ensuring strategies and campaigns deliver measurable commercial results.
• Leading, mentoring and developing specialist performance teams, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Overseeing performance across multiple digital disciplines, ensuring consistent standards of delivery, reporting and optimisation.
• Identifying underperformance, challenging existing approaches and implementing strategies to improve client outcomes.
• Working closely with Strategy and Client Services to translate performance data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Establishing best practices, performance benchmarks and quality standards across the agency.
• Managing delivery efficiency, budgets and commercial performance to ensure sustainable and profitable client relationships.
• Championing collaboration across Demand, Discovery and Experience to deliver more integrated and effective solutions.
• Exploring opportunities to use AI, automation and emerging technologies to improve performance, productivity and service delivery.
• Contributing to the agency’s wider strategic direction, helping develop its capabilities and performance offering.

To be considered for this Performance Director role, you’ll need:

• Significant experience in a senior digital marketing or performance leadership role, ideally gained within an agency environment.
• A strong understanding of digital performance across multiple channels and disciplines, with the ability to evaluate and challenge specialist strategies.
• A proven track record of improving client performance and delivering measurable commercial results.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to turn complex performance data into clear commercial recommendations.
• Excellent commercial awareness, including budgets, profitability, ROI and operational efficiency.
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders, challenging thinking and influencing strategic decisions.
• A collaborative, proactive leadership
