Kidney Care UK
About Kidney Care UK
7.2 million people in the UK have chronic kidney disease (CKD), a diagnosis that can turn your world upside down.
For 50 years, Kidney Care UK has been at the forefront of supporting people with kidney disease. From our early days when we campaigned to introduce donor cards in the UK, we have worked hard to support and represent the interests of everyone affected by this lifelong condition. We continue to provide practical, emotional, and financial support for individuals and their families, while also working with healthcare professionals to improve care services and campaign for change.
Kidney disease can affect anyone and there is no cure. We are here for the young and the old, for those struggling to make ends meet, for families and loved ones. We fight tirelessly, giving our total support, to improve the lives of kidney patients and their families.
We’ve grown significantly over the past five years, so it is an exciting time to join Kidney Care UK, but this is just the start.
About the Role
We are looking for an Online Community Manager to manage and develop Kidney Care UK’s online community, building relationships and encouraging participation. This is a patient facing role, providing information, advice and support as well as using insights to help shape the work of the charity and the support we offer. You will make a difference every day.
“I just couldn’t understand what was happening to me until I joined this family. I don’t know how I would have coped if I hadn’t joined.”
You will create engaging content, moderate conversation and ensure an inclusive, safe and inclusive environment for community members. You will work collaboratively with the wider Marketing and Communications team in order to develop the community to reach wider audiences, and lead on the recruitment of volunteer moderators. The role offers a real opportunity to make your mark and develop this vital resource to our kidney community.
About You
We are looking for someone who has experience in online community management, online customer service or online engagement roles. You must be comfortable working independently while following established guidelines and tone of voice. Ideally, you will have experience in working with, or managing a small team of volunteers, and above all you must have a genuine interest in online communities and digital culture.
This is a part time role, working 14 hours per week. It is expected that 7 of these hours are worked over one day, with the remaining hours worked flexibly over the rest of the week. There will be an expectation of regular attendance at our office in Alton, the nature of which will be agreed with the successful candidate.
If you think you would be a great fit for the role we would love to hear from you.
