Job Title: Managing Director Clwb Golff Nefyn (CGN)

As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Managing Director.
Position Overview: The Managing Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the club s operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and local government legislative requirements, and implementing the club s strategic plan. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will lead a dedicated team, including the Director of Golf, the Head Greenkeeper, the Head Chef/Front of House, and Office Staff.
Key Responsibilities: • Attend all board meetings as a co-opted member, setting the agenda in consultation with the board and providing output in respect of minutes and actions. • Oversee and lead all aspects of the Club s day-to-day activities. • Motivate, lead, support, and develop all CGN staff. • Ensure compliance with all licensing, health & safety, and employment requirements. • Develop and implement strategies for recruiting new members, marketing, and attracting visiting golfers and societies. • Promote the Club internally and externally in a professional and approachable manner. • Manage the Club s financial resources in conjunction with the Non-Exec Financial Director and external auditors. • Set targets and goals aligned with the Strategic Business Objectives. • Maintain accurate records of Club meetings and activities.
Key Areas of Activity: • Membership: Act as the primary interface with members, coordinate competitions and events, and maintain the membership register. • Finance: Ensure clear revenue and cost management, control cash flow, and manage capital projects. • Marketing and PR: Develop and implement strategic marketing strategies, enhance relationships with golf tour organizations, and increase revenue through various events and sponsorships. • Course Management: Work closely with the Head Greenkeeper to maintain the course and machinery. • General
Administration: Manage the Club s administrative processes, update policies, and ensure property assets are maintained. • House, Bar, and Catering: Support the Head Chef/Front of House in developing the Club s service offerings. • Health and Safety: Develop and ensure compliance with health and safety policies, conduct regular audits, and advise the Board on relevant issues. • Communication: Manage the Club s communications via digital channels, newsletters, and community engagement.
Qualifications: • Proven experience in a senior management role, preferably within the hospitality or sports sectors. • Strong leadership and motivational skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Financial acumen and experience in managing budgets. • Knowledge of health and safety regulations. • Ability to work collaboratively with a board of directors and lead a diverse team.
