The HSE&C Project Advisor is a member of the global Future Mobility & Solutions (FM&S) HSE&C team and is responsible for delivering a variety of HSE&C programs.
What the role does!
• The HSE&C Project advisor will work with the Global HSE&C manager to prioritise and determine which safety processes/procedures will be supported across the different projects and regions.
• Advise operations team members on safety process/systems
• Serve as an interface into central HSE&C resources
• Provide accurate and timely guidance to personnel on applicable health and safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance/conformance
• Monitor interpretation and application of relevant bp group requirements
• Maintain a behavioural based safety program (e.g. Safety Observation Conversations (SOC)
• Provide dedicated technical and specialist HSE advice to project teams, including the creation of safety and health policies/programs
• Support the FM&S HSE&C team members during periods of high workload (e.g. incidents, crisis response)
• Maintain strong links with the HSE&C Managers and Advisors in ESA, ASPAC and Americas
• Responsible for auditing, reviewing and if necessary, coaching in order to ensure full compliance with the business
• Provide relevant and specific expertise to diagnose, investigate and overcome problems through participating or leading incident investigations ensuring proper reporting and communication of outcomes and lessons are learned and shared
• Participate in trade association meetings as approved
• Robust administration of all HSE&C activities, including the reporting and recording of incidents and investigations
• Support FM&S Project Managers and projects on all matters related to health safety and risk management, including the co-ordination of both external and internal subject matter experts
What we need from you!
We are looking for someone with a degree level qualification and, preferably, a professional certification in safety (e.g. NEBOSH). You will have experience working in HSE, with a focus on construction and maintenance, within a multifaceted environment balancing multiple priorities. A strong knowledge of HSE Management systems is crucial. The successful candidate will also have experience influencing and working with contractors.
To be successful in the role you will need strong networking, facilitation and influencing skills. The ability to work well in a team environment is key.
