We are working with an amazing charity based in Doncaster who is looking to appoint a Head of Operations and Partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity to join a charity that makes huge and positive impacts to children’s lives.

Active Fusion are looking for someone to lead their team to manage their portfolio of programmes providing strategic leadership and operational support. Working alongside the Director and Head of Fundraising and Development you will contribute to policy and practice development, fundraising, financial planning and strategic management of all of the charities services. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the charity that will enable us to help support and change young peoples lives.

This role is ideal for someone with a track-record in service management who is able to achieve objectives by enabling and empowering a team and is keen to develop their capabilities as a leader.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of programmes include school partnerships, apprenticeships, leadership and community programmes. Ensuring robust mentoring support for staff and safe, effective delivery of practise.
• Lead and develop a team whilst overseeing multiple work-streams efficiently and effectively.
• Increase effectiveness and efficiency by analysing and improving organisational systems and processes, and following through on learning and development goals to ensure results.
• Ensure that the governance arrangements including risk management are adhered to; support staff requirements including recruitment, selection, and retention; support in the development of good practice, to improve and evolve the processes and systems to meet the demands of the services.
• Ensure core services meet our contractual obligations with robust monitoring and reporting.
• Lead on reporting and performance against KPI’s with the SLT and board of trustees.
• With the Senior Team lead on the development and implementation of the operational plan and the 3 year strategy.
• Ensure all staff fulfil the requirements of their job descriptions follow all policies and procedures and evidence the impact they are contributing to the overall strategy.
• Ensure personnel policies and procedures are implemented and support the Finance and HR officer to ensure high quality system’s are maintained.
• Research and identify prospective partnerships in order to meet financial targets and achieve Active Fusion’s long term strategic aims.
• Work closely with the SLT to monitor income, expenditure, cash flow and update the organisation’s budget and financial systems accordingly.
• Assist the SLT with tenders and fundraising applications.
• Provide IT systems support to colleagues, undertake IT troubleshooting and liaise with our external IT provider to ensure the smooth running and ongoing maintenance of our IT network and website.
• Ensure full compliance with GDPR guidelines and other legal obligations.
• Support wider charitable activities including fundraising, marketing, networking and social media promotion.

Relevant Experience

Essential

• Demonstrable experience in leading organisational operations with a proven track record of up to 3 years.
• Demonstrable experience of financial management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in leading, line managing and mentoring staff to achieve organisational goals and personal development.
• Experience of leading and managing services/delivery programmes.
• Experience of successful partnership working.
• Strategic thinking and visioning.
• Working with trustees or similar governing body.
• Be responsible for monitoring, recording and evidencing KPI’s, targets and outputs.

Desirable

• Experience of sustainable charitable/school/community partnerships in the South Yorkshire area.
• Experience in working in the education or sport sector or a charity supporting young people.
• Safeguarding level 3 trained.
