Graphic DesignerThese are exciting times for the charity, and we now have an excellent opportunity for a Graphic Designer to join the busy Graphics team.Position: Graphic DesignerLocation: Sidmouth, Devon with flexible/home-working availableHours: 08.30-16.30, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for evening and weekend working as required, and up to 3 days’ on-site attendance per week.Salary: £30,000 pro rataContract: 9 month fixed term contract starting as soon as possibleBenefits: Generous annual leave, pension scheme, Healthshield plan, confidential counselling service, subsidised restaurant, free parking, enhanced maternity/paternity benefits, Life Assurance Scheme, 31 day’s holiday per year, inclusive of the 8 statutory public holidays. This increases by one day each year until a maximum of 34 days is reached.Closing Date: 22 November 2021The RoleReporting to the Head of Brand and Design, and with a wide breadth of experience of implementing and managing visual brand and designing for print, online and digital within organisational brand guidelines, the Graphic Designer will produce, monitor and maintain effective communication materials and products that function consistently across all print and digital platforms.Possessing exceptional creative, communication and information presentation skills, your principal duties within this varied and rewarding role will include:Protecting and championing the organisations brand and leverage it to achieve maximum income and advocacy for the charity and its subsidiariesEnsure creativity and quality design is capturedIn liaison with the graphic design team, managing the design and production process for all printed marketing communications materials and product requests from initial brief to final artwork stageLiaising with job owners/managers throughout the process, and directly supporting, influencing and negotiating with relevant stakeholders to achieve the best outcome for the brief and charity brandMaintaining the highest standards of accessibility for all marketing communications materials, ensuring all materials are appropriate for the organisation’s supporter baseManaging multiple projects concurrently and ensuring design work meets set deadlines, budgets and quality standardsMaintaining accurate and up to date Digital Asset Management records ensuring that file saving/storage procedures and naming conventions are complied with.About YouAs Graphic Designer, you will have an understanding of contemporary knowledge of design practices and trends and their role within a charity/fundraising environment, together with familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).You will have:Proven skills in visualising and creating thoughtful design conceptsConfidence in shaping the visual aspects of mailings, brochures, display posters, books, magazines, product packaging and live eventsDemonstrable knowledge, skills and ability in digital-specific designAn understanding of SEO, social and digital audience behaviour is desirable.If you feel you have the qualifications, skills and experience to fulfil this varied, rewarding and vital role, we would love to hear from you.
