The Zimbabwe Educational Trust
The Zimbabwe Educational Trust (ZET) is a small but ambitious UK charity working to advance access to education and sustainable livelihoods in Zimbabwe. ZET’s approach uniquely targets both internal and external barriers hindering Zimbabwean children from receiving a comprehensive education.
With a ‘dual focus’ strategy, ZET strives to enhance educational infrastructure within Zimbabwe while simultaneously uplifting the socio-economic well-being of children and youth beyond the classroom. By addressing these key areas, ZET aims to break the cycle of adversity, creating a positive ripple effect that ensures children stay in school and out of poverty. Our projects include securing birth registration documents, vocational training for vulnerable young women, teaching sexual and reproductive health and much more.
The Role
ZET is seeking a proactive, highly organised individual with a passion for international development and a flair for fundraising and communications to join their small team. You will be supporting the charity in three essential areas: Fundraising, Operations & Administration, and Marketing & Communications. A key focus of this role will be submitting grant applications for trusts and foundations, but candidates with expertise in other disciplines such as admin, operations and marketing are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
This opportunity is perfect for individuals seeking a flexible work arrangement. The role, initially part-time for 3 days per week, offers realistic expectations tailored to its part-time nature but has the potential for growth in hours further down the line if this is something the post-holder is keen to explore. Overall, the ideal candidate should be committed to long-term involvement and be excited about contributing to the charity’s development.
