An exciting opportunity has arisen in the London communications team, to develop and lead a recycling improvement strategy within the City of Westminster. This is an excellent time to join the contract, as we embark on an ambitious plan including the roll out of food waste services, and electrification of our operational fleet, in order to achieve Westminster’s carbon net zero targets.

What will you be doing?
In the Education, Communications and Outreach Lead position, you will work closely with the Area ECO Manager and ECO Officer to develop community engagement projects to change resident behaviours and improve recycling rates and will be responsible for the budget, timeline and quality of their delivery. You will also deliver internal communications campaigns to improve our safety performance and working culture.

We operate with COVID safety procedures in place in line with government guidance, and the team work flexibly both at home and in the office, depending on the needs of the business.
What are we looking for?
Project development and management – contributing to and executing strategies to support company objectives
People and budget management as part of project delivery
Experience delivering behaviour change and/or community engagement techniques and analysing results
Superb written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
Experience of building strong stakeholder relationships
Ability to identify good news stories and develop them in partnership with PR team
A flexible and proactive approach that prioritises meeting our client and service user needs
Desirable:
Industry knowledge, with an understanding or experience of working with local authorities
Experience of visual and textual content production across multiple formats
Advanced understanding of data management and analysis
Understanding of PR, social media, social advertising and digital communications
