WE ARE BBC STUDIOS A globally renowned media company borne of the BBC. We make and distribute the world’s most sought-after TV, audio and digital content.
Our ambition is to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining, and inspiring stories for people all around the world.
ABOUT UKTV
UKTV is a leading UK broadcaster with over 30 years of experience in branded television. It operates the streaming service U as well as popular channels like U&Dave and U&Drama, offering a range of genres including comedy, drama, and factual programming. As part of BBC Studios, UKTV is a major supporter of the British creative industries.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM?
The UK/Ireland Content Partnerships and Sales team is a hybrid UKTV and BBCS team. They have combined responsibility for licensing BBCS content to UK and Irish TV broadcasters and VOD services and global distribution of UKTV originals (partnering with BBCS and 3rd-party distributors). They also have a strategic focus on securing funding for future UKTV commissions (e.g. from distributors and co-production partners).
Our team excels in maximising revenue from IP – through innovative deals and partnerships that navigate the complexities of our markets – and in leveraging our relationships, expertise and creative thinking to help facilitate the creation of brilliant new content.
We work across two offices (10 Hammersmith Grove and Television Centre), though our primary location is in Hammersmith.
We’re seeking a strategic and commercially minded leader to head the UK/Ireland Content Partnerships & Sales team. This is a high-profile role at the heart of our UK commercial operation, where you’ll be responsible for setting and delivering the team’s business strategy, managing day-to-day operations, and coaching a talented team to achieve their full potential. You’ll also play a key role in shaping how UKTV partners with content producers, distributors and other broadcasters/services, drawing upon strong relationships all across the Group and the industry to unlock opportunities and drive long-term value.
As a senior leader, you’ll lead complex negotiations, manage diverse stakeholder interests, navigate sensitive trade-offs and be expected to deliver against challenging financial targets and other KPIs. You’ll work closely with the General Manager, Commercial, and the wider Commercial Leadership Team to align on strategic goals, support team development, and contribute to wider corporate initiatives.
Crucially, you’ll help UKTV realise its commissioning ambitions by facilitating investment from both internal Group resources and external funding partners. You will have a tangible impact on the future of UKTV’s original content offering, while maximising commercial value and success for BBCS and the wider Group.
