Job Profile Summary
Responsible for leading the delivery of a segment or team investment portfolio / programme / complex high-risk project (depending on specialism) in alignment with strategy, taking full accountability for its success and using highly advanced technical capabilities to manage financial plans and realize expected benefits outlined in the business case, securing engagement and involvement of stakeholders and leading continuous improvement efforts. Specialisms: Portfolio Management; Programme Management; Project and Product Delivery.
The Digital Strategy and Optimization Lead, plays an important role in evolving, embedding, and enabling the digital strategy across our digital teams. Setting governance structures to enable prioritization and integration of the strategy,as well as ensuring alignment of financial frame for pan Innovation & Engineering (I&E) digital to strategy.
Key Accountabilities:Translating the digital strategy into the creation and management of strategic plans, that in turn shape and support the delivery of projects, ensuring activities and outputs remain relevant and measurable.
Setting governance structures to enable prioritization and integration of the strategy, as well as ensuring alignment of financial frame for pan-I&E digital to strategy.
Reflect requirements of a broad range of stakeholders by collaborating with cross-business and functional teams.
Support in the communication and promotion of the digital strategy across our digital teams and beyond.
Assess the current technology environment and support with the refresh of digital and shared service strategies and develops maintains roadmaps in collaboration with architecture.
Perform market research from internal and external sources to inform key stakeholders and as input to refreshing digital strategies Help to build a more cohesive community for the strategy specialism within Digital to ensure bp gets the most out of the available skills and experience and drives continuous improvement efforts.
Drive the appropriate behaviours to achieve success,including a continuous improvement culture, such as collaborating with key partners to develop and refine our approaches.Ensure personal and team compliance with bp’s Code of Conduct and demonstrates strong leadership through bp’s leadership expectations and values & behaviours.
Essential Experience:Extensive experience of developing and managing digital/technology strategies Broad and strategic knowledge of the global technology landscape and players Commercial mindset, be innovative, and demonstrate strong design thinking acumen skills.
Strong facilitation and leadership skills: bringing multiple stakeholders from broad backgrounds and positions together towards defined outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate at various levels within and outside bp, work independently and remotely and be comfortable with ambiguity.
Outstanding communication, brevity and relationship skills,ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders, capable of leading by influence.
Strong skills in promoting and marketing content.
Strong negotiation skills, prioritization, and the ability to navigate competing demands and complex problems.
Proven ability to think creatively and strategically while handling complex issues.
Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA in relevant subject or equivalent preferred or equivalent experience.
