Working Hours: 35 hours per week, including some evenings

About the Role

As a Community Engagement Executive, you will be at the heart of our vibrant synagogue community. Your key responsibilities will include event planning, community engagement, and enhancing our digital and in-person presence. You will work closely with members, volunteers, and the Rabbinic team to create a welcoming and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Communications

• Develop and implement communication strategies across PR, newsletters, website, and social media.
• Strengthen relationships with members, volunteers, and key stakeholders.
• Promote WPS to attract and engage members through strategic marketing.
• Manage and grow our social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
• Conduct research to align engagement activities with community interests.
• Ensure all marketing efforts adhere to budgetary constraints.

Event Planning & Management

• Organise and oversee synagogue events, including religious, cultural, and educational activities.
• Coordinate major lifecycle events (Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, etc.).
• Manage event logistics, from venue booking to guest management.
• Work with volunteers to expand and support community initiatives.
• Seek sponsorship opportunities and manage event budgets effectively.

Digital & PR Management

• Maintain and update the synagogue website.
• Handle PR efforts in Jewish media.
• Support the production of the synagogue’s annual magazine.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a charismatic and organised professional with:

Leadership & Relationship Building – Experience working with volunteers and community stakeholders.

Communication & Marketing Skills – Strong writing, social media, and PR expertise.

Event Management Experience – Proven ability to plan and execute successful events.

Tech-Savviness – Experience with website and social media management.

Problem-Solving & Adaptability – A proactive approach to challenges.

Cultural Awareness – Understanding of Jewish customs and community dynamics.

Organisational Excellence – Ability to prioritise multiple projects effectively.

• Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience running marketing campaigns.
• Strong copywriting and content creation skills.
• Familiarity with membership databases and content management systems.
